Rocking Chair
This rocking chair was constructed in 1982 in anticipation of the birth of Dave and Karla’s second child, Dieter. The design evolved during the course of construction. It began as a piece modeled after Karla’s parent’s rocking chair. Then Dave attended a Sam Maloof workshop and the sculpted designs took shape. Dave continues to be influenced by Maloof’s organic, sculpted designs. The dining chairs currently under development and many other pieces over the years reflect this influence.
